It is a truth universally acknowledged that any character in need of a plot will find themselves an equal mate. I think we pride ourselves in having it made very clear that we're not fans of Nate nor of Vanessa. Now, this is a still for the finale. So I ask you, gentle readers: Where do you stand with the NV. NV or NO?
Convenience-shipping Vanessa is DANGEROUS, people. Because NV will fail again and they will have to justify her existence on the show AGAIN and we're back to where we started. Even if that wasn't going to happen, she'll be around dumbing down storylines, winning over Blair, making other characters out of character and dragging down the show. Stay firm!

ReplyDeleteHonestly I shipped them and not out of convenience. I liked that they gave each other a reason to exist on the show. Not anymore though, and I blame the writers for screwing them up. Now I can't stand neither of the characters. And yes, while Vanessa is a total suckage, if she forgives Nate just like that... I'm going to see red. He is a fucking tool who needs to get kicked where it hurts the most for treating a girl like crap.
ReplyDeleteUgh, the thought of this pisses me off SO much. I love(d) NV hardcore, but after the shit Nate pulled with her (not once but twice, mind you)? They better not be expecting a single person to believe that Nate has any feelings for her or anyone else, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know Vanessa is the most hated character ever, but even she deserves better than to go groveling back to Nate. Please, writers, please let her tell him to eff off. Then she can leave the show to go to school in LA or whatever.
Let me be honest here. I used to like them; they were lovely in their corner. Then they went ahead and messed it out of the blue, creating forced problems between them that we had never seen before. I understand that a lot of people didn't take to them but I'm really thinking that they're attempting to recreate another Chair couple - this is a BIG problem because they began playing musical couples with these characters and it ended up damaging them the most.
ReplyDeleteI honestly want Vanessa gone out of the show; I dont care where just gone; because the writers have shown me that they have no respect for her character and are willing to use her for ANY purpose whatsoever. Nathaniel; I can't even LOOK at him. Makes me want to bash his head in; first with his obvious disdain of what happened between him and V and now his behavior towards both Chuck and Blair? I dont want him near any girl.
Keeping these characters as such; most especially Vanessa is just creating a serious hate towards them that I believe to be irreparable right now. I can't ship them together, not even out of convenience. And TBH, I dont want NEITHER of them close to Chuck and Blair. I just want them away from one another, no scenes, no nothing because my dislike for them has quite honesty messed my enjoyment of the show. Most especially the entire CV angle (which like you all have stated we're STILL waiting for the fucking purpose of it other than pimp my RL ship) and the prolonged ridiculous joke that is Nair.
I agree, I also dont like the character of Vanessa and can't wait for her to be taken off the show but put her and Nate back together just because we're afraid what they'll do to Chair is wrong. The girl needs to have some dignity; leave the rich boys alone. She will never really click with any of them, she's too bohemian. Like dreamfearielove said just have her move. The dislike for her character is merging into the actress and I think that it's becoming more and more clear in the fandom as time goes by. Just take her off because you dont know what to do with her and anything you've done to her or with her is back-firing bad time.
ReplyDeleteI used to really like NV...they were cute and supposedly in love. As much as I love CB drama, their simple love story without major problems warmed my heart to them.

I don't really care about NV nowdays. I just want them far far away from my beloved Chuck and Blair.
I'm a NJer true and true. LOVE them, just loved them since Handmaiden's Tale and even more in Victor/Victrola / Seventeen Candles but after this that they pulled with Nate I'm afraid of him even going near Jenny. Vanessa can DIAF for all I care after what she did as a 'fake revenge' with Chuck and the letter stealing (which I still have not forgiven) I have no pity for this horrible horrible character. I also just want her gone.

if you had asked me before CV i would not have been so harsh on vanessa - actually i wld have felt sorry for her for having to go back to nate [who's a whole different story - i dont even have the energy to go there ><] but after what happened i want that hypocrite out of the damn show or have her get so screwed over that it'll atleast lessen the pain i had to go thru knowing she was slathering her germs all over chuck - even if the screwing over is done by nate-the-biggest douchebag-ever.
