ReplyDeleteI'm on cloud 9, my sisters keep looking at me funny, like i'm crazy. A huge smiles on my face. and i keep doing a happy dance. I'm even making fun of OTH. AHH I cant believe it I feel like I'm 14 again.
ReplyDeleteGeoergie and Dan, I see something there... This was the best season finale ever. And scott was hotter than Dan IMO I don't know what else to rant about. Oh yeah Emma was back.
Oh and why in hell was Vanessa on my screen? I don't care anymore...
I saw a couple of clips at work this morning and was smiling the whole time. I felt so happy and relieved that they didn't end it with NAIR. All I can do at this pt is trust Savage when she says that CHAIR are a priority for Season 3. This blog should def continue...we all need to hold that woman accountable for that promise. She and Josh Schwartz need to deliver. If they can't write the episodes, then let Joshua Safran take care of that task. He's the genius who wrote SUMMER KIND OF WONDERFUL, this finale and can be credited with the famous "three words, 8 letters" line.
ReplyDeletei feel like such a little highschooler happy dancing around my room over this but how can you not, when ed and leighton have created characters that we can care so much about.
ReplyDeleteOk, don't get me wrong - I love Chair and it's about damn time, but I was a bit underwhelmed by Chuck's ILY (mind you, I think Savage and co. had a terrific fucking thing going with Chair until Bart died. All of the back and forth and contrivances after that kind of killed lots of the magic for me). He actually said, "I love you too," rather than it being a standalone declaration, as I would have preferred. As we had just seen Blair killing it in the seduction scene as well as the post-Jack gossip blast scene, I felt like the feelings were mostly Blair sided this episode. I get it - Chuck is damaged blah blah, but I really hate all of the begging she had to do the entire season (for Chuck, for school), so I hope in season 3 we get to see Chuck really go out on a limb for her MULTIPLE times. Plus I want to see some fucking C/B sex. WTF, we got to see more C/V sex this season, which makes me stabby.
ReplyDeleteDid we ever figure out if she knew Jack was Chuck's uncle at the time? I missed the fleshing out of that. If she did, that was totally out of character (contrivance #563, thank you writers).
Vanessa needs to be locked in a box with a ferret.
11:23, thank you so much. It was all about Blair giving and Chuck taking this season...and then they set up the same dynamic in the finale.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't really have her explain it, because of course, it was more about setting her up so Chuck could reject her than about Blair's character or development.

I disagree Blair always knew that Chuck loved her, that was why she tried soo hard to get him too say it becuz he declared himself way back in ep 1x08 seventeen cnadles with the classic butterflies acknowledgement his "I love you too" was merely answering her question of "do you love me?" it is an acknowledgement and return of her feelings directly letting her know that he is in the love affair WITH her. i think it was perfect people keep forgetting before Blair was even thinking of loving Chuck he had already declared himself to Nate about her and then serena this year. IMO he identified his feelings before B did but she vocalized it to him before he did to her
ReplyDeleteguys, i've been a Chair fan since I saw the pilot. I remember very clearly, when Serena leaves Kiss on the Lips and Blair stands in the doorway saying "she better not show her face again" and Chuck gives her this look, this devilish little look, and they exchange a knowing glance. I thought, "good god that's hot. That's so much hotter than nate who's hiding around the corner with a beer. at least chuck and blair get each other." So, point is, I have shipped no other. Episode 7 was like a 42 minute orgasm for me.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, tonight was a little weird for me. I remember back when Blair said it after the funeral, I was bawling like a little girl. Tonight I just didn't feel as involved with Chair because it's been soooooooo dragged out. The mini-strip tease was f'ing hot, the window goodbye was sooo charged with classic Chair anxiety. I loved those parts. But the actual ILY felt...off to me. I don't know why! I have been waiting for this for TWO YEARS, and I just feel...a little let down. I mean I'm happy! But I'm not...satisfied. Am I being retarded? Does anybody else feel a *tiny bit* let down? Also, I loved the line in the script "because I'm not chuck bass without you" - why'd they cut that?!?!
ok sorry for being on the kool aid earlier. I watched it again and I felt a lot better. I think I just had it built up in my head too much for anything to live up to.
ReplyDeleteI'm now really excited for season 3 because now we have no idea whats going to happen. Chuck's I love you was set up since 2.01 so we always knew it would happen. Dragging it out for so long made the manipulation and deliberative-ness (not an actual word I know) of it increasingly annoying as time went on. I really hate arcs and sweeps. But now that they're together, far from being boring as some people suspected, I think it will actually be better as anything could happen.
ReplyDeleteI thought Chuck's I love you was a little off as well. When Chuck smiled it took me out of it as it was ed for a second instead of Chuck, but I think that's just because other than prom Chuck hasn't really smiled. But I thought they deliberately went for a much lighter scene, both in contrast to 2.01 and to make it clear that it wasn't all about sex.
I thought the finale was off too...but hell, I waited for this so long and I won't complain! The ending was so cute, but not epic...the most epic scenes were the seduction one and the "i love you so much it consumes me"...Blair's speech and Chuck's lost face made it all.

But I'm fuckin' happy, for sure.
At first I wasn't sure but now I can say that I definitely loved the final scene and Chuck's ILY! It was an honest, sweet, confident "I love you", the kind I expected from Chuck Bass. Chuck may have a lot of flaws but he's definitely not a hypocrite and when he says sth BIG like ILY he really means it. The final scene gave me this impression exactly, like he really meant it and he only verbalized it when he was more than 100% that this was true and it could make both Blair's and his life happier! I'm so happy now and keep my fingers crossed that the writers won't mess things up for CB next season and they'll stop the annoying, "cheap" OMFG, rushed storylines of s.2.
