Ok, I cannot tell you how EXCITED I was at receiving this. I mean, some real CVers for reals!! After all this time! #$%^&@ and right before a new episode?? After I've taken 20 aspirins?? You all LOVE me! So let us wank this fool because it's just too good to be true! Man, I've missed a good wanking, I've been so depressed about it lately that it's just put me in a foul mood.

U guys are so mean, it really sux. Anyways, she's not one of my favs but I like her in the show. Maybe V will grow even more next season, I'm looking forward to and... Vuck? The new Bluck. LOL I like Vanessa and Chuck, I found it really interesting. It's way better than the idea of Bluck as a cute romantic and steady couple. I want the Chuck Bass back now and a love/hate relationship with Vanessa would be cool. But I know that's probably just me and a few anyway LOL I'm just hoping for surprises.
ME: To begin with my eye twitched a few times at the random 'sux' and ridiculousness of the entire post. But you know, once I got over that I was able to real enjoy myself. Ok, baby, Vanessa has had 2 seasons, 35 credited episodes to do something for me other than piss me the hell off. So if in 35 episodes all the writers have managed to do was to get the majority of the fandom to want her gone or in a corner I highly doubt attempting to make her just FANTASTIC next year will make her an army. It will quite honestly have the opposite effect. AND PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF PINK LEMONADE WHICH I LOVE SO MUCH DONT YOU EVER EVER EVER EVER SAY 'VUCK IS THE NEW BLUCK' BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL FUCK YOU UP. Really, I'm just looking out for your well being. I have never seen Chair as a 'cute romantic and steady couple' but if you do I totally understand, it's the affect of the Kool-Aid. Not your fault, kid. And those things are not called 'surprises' they're called OMFG-moments with no substantial back-story backing.
As if any of you would really stop watching the show because of Vuck, anyway. That's the problem with gg... 'fans' - u guys keep pressuring with this 'bluck or cancellation' shit and it's really pathetic.
ME: FACT. People HAVE stopped watching because of Chuhobo, people I know, people that often posted, wrote fanfiction, made icons, made videos. Fans. Fans stopped. And I LOVE that she admits that she's not part of the GG fans. "That's the problem with gg... 'fans' - u guys" that tells me that you really dont know us or are part of US for that matter.
And we have more chance of seeing old school Chuck Bass back in a tormented relationship with Vanessa than steady in a romance with Blair, I think that's obviously a fact.
ME: Another statement of proof that she neither understands nor appreciates a good character progression. Characters should innately stay the same, participating in random acts of promiscuity in order to give you a good surprise. WANK me a river, baby, because I'm all out of tears.
But for the sake of insanity and waiting for the recap I propose a poll.
Ugh, CV...one of the worst things to show up on my TV screen. Along with NB, of course.

ReplyDeleteClearly I am way more invested in gg than is sane but Chuck/ Vanessa freaks me out. It made no sense for the characters, though I use that term roughly where Vanessa is concerned. And it was done as a combination of OMFG inducement and I think moreso to 'capitalise' on a real life relationship which makes it, for me, incredibly creepy. I didn't watch the actual scene (hid my eyes behind my fingers) but I think if it was to happen again I wouldn't be able to watch the show anymore. Anyway... finale yay.

Vuck's already killed the show for a lot of people. I mean...seriously, it's like one of those public service announcements...does anyone NOT know someone personally (not online) who walked away over it? I know multiple people who left over it, and a couple who left over Elle. Just check out the decrease in fanfics, picspams, comments at the lj communities--they've been cut in half and a lot of the most insightful people have left.

I admit. When Chuck and Vanessa thing happened, I thought it was because Chuck was using Vanessa in the whole misguided "seduce & destroy" scheme from earlier in the season. I thought there must have been a reason. But since, so far, it has proven to be an absolutely random act, with no purpose, no build up, no explanation, and no resolution, this is what I think of Vuck - waste of my precisious time. If the writers don't make an effort to think through their storylines and character integrity (never mind development), I'm less likely to put in an effort and "hang in there" to quote a writer of this show.
ReplyDeleteI quit watching after the Canadians spoiled 2.20. I refused (and will always refuse) to watch CV. I am coming back for the finale because of CB, but I haven't watched an episode since 2.19. So, yes, people DO stop watching. CV makes no narrative sense, and Chuck Bass would never debase himself by being in a relationship with someone like Vanessa. I can see him sleeping with her (though I still hate it), because he sleeps with pretty much anyone so long as they are somewhat attractive, but the idea of CV as a couple turns my stomach more than CV sex, and it would be entirely OOC for Chuck to be in any way involved with her. I am still petrified the writers will go there again in Season 3. If they MUST keep Vanessa on the show (and I guess they must love her, because the majority of the fandom hates her), they need to stop having her come between ships. First she tried to mess with DS, then NB (I hate NB, but I can sympathize with NB shippers on this front, since I know how much it sucks to have Vanessa mess with your preferred ship), then NJ, and finally (and worst of all), CB. Either give her something else to do, or just admit she sucks and get rid of her altogether. They keep trying to shove her down people's throats, and it's only making people hate her more. I'm sure they will once again try and make her "likeable" next season, which means even more Vanessa screentime. Joy! She has no reason to be interacting with any of these people except for Dan, but I'm sure she'll be front and center, reading people's essays and mail, trying desperately to gain more access to the social circles she claims to despise.
