NEWSBREAK: TRAGEDY HAS BEFALLEN ON THE GOSSIP GIRL MARKETING DEPARTMENT AS THEY HAVE RELEASED THE COVER OF THE NEW SEASON 2 DVD COLLECTION. OFFICIALS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE ENTIRE STAFF WAS HIGH ON KOOL-AID AND SEVERAL ARREST HAVE BEEN MADE. MORE TO COME AT ELEVEN.
So. For the casual person who runs into our DVD at Target they can deduce the following information about Gossip Girl in general. For one Dan is in the middle of a questionably triangle between Blair and Jenny. And they say we have no scandal. Serena and Nate shared screentime this season together. Chuck and Hobo-Barista must've been a pre-planned large arc that will have you at the edge of your seat (with a bucket between your knees for the puke) and Chuck at least fondled Nate at one point or another (yes, Nate was confused. But kinda liked it.)
Oh and yeah... my cover came with a little 'defect'. *looks innocent* What?? I have a plan! I bought some markers and will break into Target the night before they're released. Do a favor to humanity and X out Lady Dreadlock's face from the covers. I may even get a humanitarian award! :D

I dont know... I see myself much more as a humanitarian rather than an arsonist.
ReplyDeleteAt this point, the only reason I will ever turn back into the show is: during a scene with NB or some other Kool Aid related tomfoolery, the Kool Aid Guy breaks through a wall at the back of the set and then shouting "Oh Yeah!", clubs Vanessa to death.

God this cover is ridiculous. I mean it's bad enough they actually showed promoted RL couples on the show now they want to force it on my cover with EJ next to each other. Plus, WTF are they thinking putting a freaking photo shoot pic. That's not interesting. It looks like a freaking magazine cover not a DVD cover.

ReplyDeleteIsn't this a really old picture of the cast? Taylor has her shorter hair, but she doesn't yet have her platinum blond, Debbie Harry/Joan Jett style. I know I've seen it before (or at least a picture that is very similar). I definitely remember a picture with Blake splayed across the middle of everyone like that. That is a very bad choice for the DVD cover, but maybe they're not expecting that many people to buy it anyway. Maybe they'll change it before it's actually released? Because it probably won't come out until late August.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the box set cover is from a People photoshoot from last year. The CW only does new pictures every two years, so next season we'll get some new pictures (hopefully better).
ReplyDeletethis isn't the final cover! Or at least, this is the british cover, since they usually release tv shows in two "volumes." Look at the bottom corner, it says "second season volume one!"
